Of Men, God and Other Gods.

The opening paragraph of the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy, as unserious as it sounds, discusses a very important theme;the insignificance of men, the earth and ultimately our solar system on the grand scale of things. The solar system seems really huge[It is] but in fact it really is a speck[ In comparison] in the universe. The universe is a place that breaks the limits of the word large. I read an analogy in an encyclopedia published sometime in the 40's [My grandfather's] about the universe. It read "The empire state building with only five grains of dust is more crowded than space". It's so so immense. But you still won't get how immense it is. Sometime back a  Keke sent me a link to this site  .It was as fun as it was educative but really it was an eye opener. Our solar system is not so large and has only one star, some planets and a few hundred satellites. Brings me to my main topic men and religion. How so little is mentioned about the heavens in religious writings. Is religion just an earth thing or does it exist in other places in the universe? and if yes is it always localized to their own environments? If No how did men come about religion? Aliens? They say the earth is God's foot stool. The religious books say it. That makes God small doesn't it? The universe could contain a 100 Gods or more are they like mini rulers over their own "little" space? I think the universe is too large for one God, judging from his own description of himself. And if there is truly only one God in the universe then haven't we grossly overrated ourselves? Our devotion, our time, our praises how can it count If there is such a huge universe out there? Let's take the earth as a case study. Let's say new york city is the most important place on earth and the earth exists only because of New york city. NYC has a land mass of 1213 km sq the earth's land surface area is 143 million km sq the ratio is 148,300,000 / 1200 That's a ratio of about 1: 122000. The size of the solar system using the minimum values possible [ the orbit of pluto] is about 5,913,520,000 km the diameter of the earth is a 12,742 km the ratio is about is 1:464096. That's bigger than comparing NYC to earth. If you go on and compare the radius of the earth 12 742km or the solar system with that of the milky way which is a 29,979,200,000 km wide.And the milky way is not even by any standards the largest galaxy in space and galaxies aren't the biggest bodies in space. You gotta ask yourself what kind of microscope does God watch us in? Back to NYC it's not even self sufficient it gets most of it's needs from the outside world, the earth is not self sufficient it needs the sun. After that, that's all you are there in the back end of the galaxy[The galaxy is a small place] . Why should a God who isn't localized give a fuck about us? If God rules the universe in it's entirety why doesn't he "brag" about it in his book? I mean he tells you all about miracles and how he controls weathers, parts seas, brings plagues. I mean that fits the character of the God we've come to know in our books] . Is it because even he doesn't know about the extent of the universe [ This goes out to the authors of "God's divine words"] . If they knew this maybe the word omnipresent wouldn't have appeared that much in the book.

 

                                         OMNISCIENCE

 

God being omniscient is not really something we ever take too seriously because hey it's in the holy books he's omniscient but have you ever thought about what it really means? Taking it at face value you think knowing all means having all knowledge meaning a lot of wisdom , the fundamental truths and say everything written down in books, watching all porn and movies etc it feels like a lot of data storage must be involved. It extends to the thoughts of every single one of our 7 billion strong human race, the number of every gas molecule in every cigarrete smoked, every plan of every company, the amount of oxygen in molecules in the air, the amount of cells in every single tree in every forest as billions more grow , the number of fishes in the ocean even as millions hatch per minute. Let's try for some abiotics the climate of the world, the weather in every single city, the wind speed, the weather on mars, jupiter et al, the speed and magnetic field of all asteroids, the size of the universe as it expands faster than the speed of light. The list goes on and on and on. . I mean let's say he gets the reports in binary from his billions or trillions of angels (exact number was never given in the bible) [ who are too few to cover the universe anyway] every second he wouldn't still be omniscient because too much happens within the space of a second anyway and still the processing power involved would be scott pilgrim insane and . Now this is not proof that he is not omniscient cause saying something is impossible cause it's unfathomable is not exactly very sound logic. 

 

                                 MEGAGODS IN THE METROPOLIS

 

On the matter of multiple Gods.  From my earlier premise of the Bible's conspicuous omission of books on the matter of the universe and thowing the word "heavens" loosely. one can assume there is a possibility [maybe slight maybe not] that the theory of multiple Gods ruling their areas of the universe is not entirely implausible .  Let's take a look at the movie Megamind. It's a movie about a solar system being destroyed and two aliens kids are put in an escape pod and they happened fall on earth. One being Metroman, extremely powerful good looking and incredibly likable   the other a big bald blue headed genius who kept on asking "what is love?" cause every thing he does just seems to go wrong and  Metroman always tries hard to make him look bad. Let's shift this to God and the devil, it's strikingly familiar. One's squeaky clean by his own standards [ flooding the earth, et al is not exactly  clean by my standards] the other is evil, dirty, corruptor. He destroyed the only chance human beings had at "true" happiness in the garden of eden. And how? By telling men to eat the forbidden apple [forbidden by one person only] and what's the result? Knowledge, opened eyes to reality want another analogy? Here's one this is a Neo taking the red pill and exiting the matrix scenario. The matrix tries to punish him. And yes human beings are still paying for eating the apple [exiting the matrix]. Back to Megamind, the world right now feels like the part where Metroman goes into hiding and leaves the inept Megamind to run the Metro City. {It's in the Bible the devil rules the earth( 2 Corinthians 4:4)}. One hero One villain, good God bad God but there might be a hundred beings out there beyond our comprehension of the Universe that fit right into the DNA of a God. Or not.

Eternal Randomness Of The Restless Mind.

I haven't posted in a long while. I have written some stuff if not a lot of stuff in that period problem is I hate editing and a lot of times I feel my articles poem or stuff are not worthy of being posted on my blog. So today I am posting for the love of writing not the quality of it. Enjoy.

                                           My Dear Friend 

My friend just rejected me again. I say hey please do this for me, I really need it can you? She replies no I can't, I love you too much to do that for you. I'm like hey but chill I really need this, this is what I want and besides it's not a bad thing. She says I'm not saying it's bad but i can't participate in it with you, I love you too much that's why. Why don't you ask someone else to do it. I'm like I asked you because I wanted to share this  with you and with no one else, she's like I'm sorry I can't. Sad ain't it when friends pull up boundaries on you and you can't pull em closer. They just make  a limit for how much you can love them but they can be super nice to you and shit. Is this some form of selfishness to want to always be the good friend? or just straight up selflessness. I don't really get it. 

                                                    Skype

 I think Skype has the worst chat notification sound in history. I mean no matter what you doing, [ watching a movie, playing a game, having sex. watching porn or just plain concentrating in software induced  dark serene writing environment ]  the sound pierces through your concentration. It poses the question of who? what? and why? instantly.  Who wrote me? What did he write?  and Why did he write me or even why now? this all in a quarter of a second. The distraction the sound represents is unholy yet divine in its power grab your attention. 

                                                       Food and Art.

I think food is art and/or an art form. Like any other form of art in almost every aspect.  Everything is composed of atoms. In other words we can break everything down into smaller components (sorry for the bad analogy).  In Art the visual one with paintings. Take for example oil painting the smallest parts could arguably be said to be primary colors or even white light before it's undergone refraction ( minimalists would love that one eh). In music, musical notes, but in for my own i prefer using musical instruments as an example here. Let's take as a  case study the track  Giorgio by Moroder by daft punk off their new album Random Access Memories. It  starts with no music just the voice of Giovanni then grows into electric piano groove and kicks. Giovanni stops talking and the bass guitar comes for you. Then it gets even more intricate with mini electric piano solos before adding some brilliantly synthesized strings that leaves you with vision of the second coming. The drums wake up to this call. And these are not just drums these are drums being beaten by a sweaty guy in a headband [At least in my mind's eye]. All the instruments seem to enjoying the each other's company but not drummer he always seem to be ahead of them.  And then in the final minute of  the song revenge of the electric pianos and strings as they go into an epic battle with the drums and It climaxes. This is how good music, this is art, this is cinematography of the mind.  Let's fall back to our main topic here food. Now let's see food in basic blocks say in atoms. Food is composed mostly of carbon. But let's say in smaller components, like instruments, I'll say ingredients like salt, pepper, rice, wheat. They all taste distinctively different, some not as distinctive as others  but you get the general idea.  Just chill and imagine this - here is your mom whipping this shit together adding all these  in "perfect" [Varies from mother to mother]  proportion to make you something as simple and basic as a pancake.  I mean this is milk from a cow (milk white) add that to eggs from a chicken( probably red) fry it in sunflower oil ( yellow) add some salt ( crystal white) some sugar from a sugarcane ( green ) and some butter from a cow [ brown cow this time ;)]. Mix that shit together in various proportions how is that not art? Better yet think of it like this you eating like 6 different things together yet you have not the taste of those things but the taste of pancake. Like when you look at mona lisa, you see a mysterious woman not just red, blue and brown.

                                                      Some Scifi. 

 Picture this an evening sky but with a lot of hanging artificial ultraviolet ray absorbent clouds serving radiation regulators following the decimation of the ozone layer caused by a solar flare. Each year more are deployed into the atmosphere as more cover is needed every few months or so. Now the aliens are back for what they hid in the pyramids but hiding as artificial clouds gathering data world wide  easily except in Africa where  they can't afford artificial clouds and no one cares enough to them except a few in the richer districts. The aliens easily gathered information about the rich but not of the poor in an attempt to know all men evenly they went through the usual route of evil. Charity. UNESCO donating clouds to African countries in the name of helping them.  They of course being controlled by higher powers wielding only Skype audio as a tool [ I knew it was evil ]  and billions of alien technology developed dollars. Who needs to know the man if you getting money constantly anyway? So there it began. Karma  corruption loses by corruption. The aliens attacked now the rich turn to the poor for help. The West turns to Africa. Karma came in form of an ancient algorithm written by a poor scholar, physically manifested  in abiotic humanoids.
